How to Use Silkscreen Stencils & Foils

When choosing your silkscreen stencils keep these things in mind.

*Purple silkscreen is best for wood, fabric and textiles.

*Blue film is best for glass, ceramic and card stock.

*Washing out stencils only use warm water and a little Dawn Power wash. Lightly rub with hand to clean. Do not use board erasers or brushes to clean or the silkscreen film will break down.

Paints & Inks:

You have a variety of paints/pastes and inks you can use with our silkscreen stencils.  I commonly use Folkart Chalk paint and Waiverly chalk paint.  You can use your current pastes you have if you choose. I also use Folkart fabric paint for all clothing and textiles. I also use speedball screen printing ink for all clothing and textiles as well. Give them all a try and test out on small projects to get comfortable with using these products.
